3-Step Social Media Checklist for Chiropractors
Is social media worth the effort you and your team put into it?
With the right strategy, Yes!
If you’ve tried social media marketing in the past, but were disappointed with your results, this checklist is for you.
✅ 01: Forget Popularity: Use Social Media to Strengthen Your Current Relationships
Social media serves a different purpose for chiropractors, and it’s all about developing stronger relationships with the connections you already have.
By posting genuinely helpful content, you can use social media to build connections with past and current patients.
This service-based approach to social media marketing helps you:
Encourage patients’ commitment to long-term care.
Increase the likelihood your patients will practice self-care (so your services are even more effective).
Lower your appointment cancellation rates.
Increase referrals to your business.
If you’re willing to ignore the “popularity” aspect of social media and focus on providing helpful content to your current patients, your pages can become effective tools for developing long-term relationships and encouraging repeat business.
✅ 02: Create Non-Promotional, Genuinely Helpful Content
Share helpful content that adds value to your followers’ lives instead of pushing your products or services on social media.
Helpful topics might include:
Understanding common ailments, such as “What is a pinched neck?” or “What are the most common causes of lower back pain?”
Self-care education, such as “What happens to your body when you drink enough water each day” and “How a good night’s sleep can change your life.”
Self-care tips, such as ways to manage stress and how to do deep breathing exercises.
Holistic living tips, such as whole foods recipes and food swap charts.
Tips on natural pain management, such as how to avoid headaches or what to do if your back hurts from heavy lifting.
Most people (79%) turn to social media when they have personal health-related questions.
By sharing useful information, you position yourself as a trusted expert in your field—someone people will remember when they need care.
You can still promote your practice with a brief call-to-action at the end of a post.
For example, “Are headaches affecting your energy level? We can help! Call us today at xxx-xxxx to find out how!”
✅ 03: Post Consistently and Predictably
Consistent posting shows your audience that you’re reliable and invested in staying connected.
Imagine what would happen if your favorite TV show only broadcast on occasion, when the actors had time to film it and the producers had time to share it.
People lose interest when content isn’t delivered consistently.
To build a relationship with your audience, develop a content calendar and stick to it—whether that’s posting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or just once a week.
Following these 3 social media guidelines will help ensure that your investment into social media marketing pays off for years to come.
