Are Your Online Reviews Gathering Dust?
If you’re not responding to all of your online reviews, you may be missing out on a goldmine.
Consumers are 41% more likely to patronize a business that responds to all of its reviews, according to a 2024 report by BrightLocal.
Responding to online reviews (even the less-than-positive ones) offers several benefits:
Shows customers you care
Builds trust and loyalty
Improves your business reputation
Attracts new customers
Generates more positive reviews
Boosts your local SEO & online visibility
Tips and Resources for Responding to Online Reviews
1. Personalize Your Responses
Avoid generic "thank you" messages. Tailor your response to each comment, showing genuine care and attention.
2. Respond in a Timely Manner
For positive reviews, responding within one week is a great way to show appreciation.
However, if you receive a negative review, try to address it quickly, ideally within 24 hours.
3. Learn How to Respond to Negative Reviews
Every business receives negative reviews from time to time. This can be a good thing because it shows readers that your reviews are authentic. You can also use them as an opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to patient satisfaction.
But understanding how to respond to them in a way that’s productive and professional can be tricky.
That’s why, last spring, I connected with more than 50 small businesses who shared their experiences and advice on dealing with negative reviews. You can check out some of their first-hand stories and get tips for responding to not-so-nice reviews here:

Social Media Tip of the Week
Boost Your Engagement with the 4:1 Rule
In this week’s toolkit, I included a bonus social media “promotional post” to help you encourage new patient signups.
While the other 3 social media posts focus on providing helpful content, this one is designed to drive new patients to your doors.
But before you post it, consider the 4:1 rule.
To maintain a healthy balance between promotion and value, share 4 helpful posts for every 1 promotional post.
This simple strategy positions you as a trusted resource and fosters long-lasting relationships with your audience.
By following this guideline, you can effectively promote your services while building credibility and trust with your audience.
